Religious School
Temple Beth El offers a comprehensive religious school every Sunday from 9:30-12:15.
For grades K-3 we offer classes in bible stories, Jewish holidays and our Jewish community. Classes are taught in an interesting and enjoyable manner that introduces students to their Jewish world.
Grades 4-7: We continue to provide a worthwhile Jewish education for our intermediate students with Jewish holidays and traditions, field trips and more in-depth holiday studies. Classes are taught in a motivating style by our excellent staff.
Grades8-10: After bar or bat mitzvah, students meet for Sunday classes 2-3 times a month. Students discuss issues of Jewish Identity, Yiddishkeit (Jewish morals and values), the Holocaust, anti-semitism, order of service, holidays and other topics of interest to the older students.
Grade 10: Our Rabbi instructs students on further topics of special interest and helps with Confirmation preparation. Confirmation is a wonderful experience for our tenth graders.
Further High School Program; Ozreem: This program provides opportunities for High school students to help in our Sunday school by sharing their knowledge of Judaism with younger students.
Hebrew School
Grades 4-7: Students study Hebrew letters, words and prayers on Sunday mornings and at mid-week Hebrew classes from 5:30-7:00PM on Wednesday evenings. Students are guided in pre bar/bat mitzvah practice and taught chanting of major blessings. Tutoring is also available.
